Living Room Part Two

Here are some details and knick knacks that I have in my living room. Also, check out my new striped wall!

This hodgepodge shelf was from my aunt. My grandfather made it for her and I just had to find a place for it. I painted it and Michael attached some paneling behind it. I love it. So simple.

I found these two chippy shutters at the antique store. I don't even know what they were used for but I love them.

Here are my stripes. My friends have asked me if it was hard to do, to tape everything. It really wasn't and what an inexpensive way to change the wall! Below is a picture of the tape. They are 12" apart (a scrapbook page size). I had to make a note to myself on every other stripe to not paint so I placed a piece of tape on the ones I shouldn't paint. I can't tell you the color of the stripes because it is a mixture of some stuff I had in the garage. A little white, a little gray...mixed until I liked it. With tape, a level, and some time you can change a plain wall into something with character. You can go bold or stay subtle. Have fun!

I know it's kind of weird posting pictures of my bathroom, but hopefully it will give someone some ideas. The color is Cornflower from Lowe's. I love brown and blue and I wanted to put a little antique feel to it. Probably my favorite thing in this bathroom is the Lightfoot's soap. My sweet friend Dikola saw that at a store and snatched it for me. How neat is that!!!

I found an old razor and band-aid box at an antique store in North Carolina. I also love old postcards and pick those up when I see them. If you look closely, you can see my "famous" soap.

Living Room Part One

We can finally sit back and enjoy our living room. It's finished. I repainted (my favorite word) the walls and it really freshened up the space. It is Valspar Malted Milk. I made the curtains and tied them with some matching ribbon.

I love my ladder. It is displaying some of my favorite decor. An old scale, old books, and some linens. The end table I found at an estate sale for a song and painted it with Annie Sloan Creamy.

The coffee table...ahhh... LOVE. IT.

Found it and two matching end tables on Craigslist. (end tables are for sale) It was exactly what I was looking for. Planky and bulky. I painted it and distressed the top to highlight the grooves.

The rug is the only thing I "splurged" on. Yes, I actually did have to buy a NEW rug. No repurposing or thrift store shopping here. It's from World Market.

Every time I look at this chair I laugh. I laugh because my son Jacob saw it on the side of the road and made me stop and get it. It is heavy metal and the PERFECT color. I left it as we found it.

Another example of using what you have, just tweaking it a bit. I painted the lamp the same Drizzle color as my entertainment center. New look, just not new.

I found the end table at an estate sale and loved it's 6 little drawers.

Mini Pajak for Sale

As some of you know, I fell in love with a piece of furniture that I had already sold. We named it the Pajak Bar after the sweet family who bought it. Well....not only did I find another one (to be painted later) but I found a smaller version. Here is the "famous" Pajak Bar.

Here is the smaller version named the Mini Pajak. (I know...very original) He is 30" wide, 30" tall, and 18" deep. He would make a great entry piece, small TV stand or just a great decor piece.

I find it so amazing that the color of the paint is different in all the pictures. The paint is the same Drizzle from Sherwin Williams I used on our entertainment buffet. I distressed it and finished it off with a wax sealer. It has one drawer on top and storage underneath. I am asking $195 and if you are interested, please email me.
