He was abandoned...I found him by a dumpster of all places. Took him home, cleaned him, sanded him, put a new "coat" on him and now look! The second picture shows the new stain on the right. Although I absolutely hate to part with him, this will be my first piece to be "adopted."
This look was inspired by a wonderful store in North Carolina called Dutchman's. The top was sanded down to the original wood and stained Walnut.

The chipped paint, distressed look, and glaze adds to his character. The hardware was replaced with four oil-rubbed bronze knobs. He's very sturdy and would be a great addition to anyone's home.

ReplyDeleteomg,, i nearly fell out of my seat.. this is almost identical to the table i've been working on. It started out blue with a lighter top and i painted it black with dark walnut top. I love the way you did yours too. Glad i found your blog. I want to sell mine but Im not sure how much i should ask for it. It also has the four chairs to go with it.
